Surgery

I was unsuccessful at convincing everyone involved to remove Eli’s port before the 6 week-post-RSV mark. So, here we are 6 weeks post-RSV, waiting to be taken back for port removal surgery.

Eli doesn’t know it yet, but we will be celebrating with a little parade around the neighborhood near our home afterwards. Some friends of mine have been helping with the planning and execution of the parade to celebrate the end of chemo.

Eli has been feeling sad recently because his foot has been hurting him. Oh, the joys of post radiation treatment side effects (brittle bones).

We’re in room 24 this time, in view of the room we were in for tumor resection and room 28, where brother Noah was after his surgery.

Update:

Eli, fresh out of surgery, gives what he calls his “I conquered something” look.

Eli and I had a bet as to how long it would take from the time he went back for surgery, to when he returned to me. He guessed 1 hour 10 minutes. I guessed 1 hour 17 minutes. He won with the actual time being 1 hour 11 minutes.
