The PET scan results came back and Eli is NED (no evidence of disease)! Yay! There are some abnormal results with all of the scans, but the abnormalities are all considered to be related to radiation, meds, surgery, or altered weight bearing post surgery.

Eli’s labwork from Thursday came back showing his counts are recovering. Yay!

Now we continue with the treatment regimen, which culminates in the end of treatment evaluation the beginning of September. At that point, we will probably do maintenance chemo for about 6 months. Maintenance chemo is just now becoming standard for Rhabdomyosarcoma. There are European studies that hadn’t yet been published when Eli was first diagnosed that indicated maintenance chemo can improve long term survival in some patients. With the high recurrence rate, we hope to improve his odds of EFS (event free survival).

NED, EFS–my vocabulary has expanded a lot in the last 7 months. 😏

    1. Thank you! We are grateful for all the thoughts and prayers. The Lord has seen fit to answer our prayers in the way we hoped, so far. We have been so blessed!
